Our Food

Many children look at foods on their plate and decide within seconds that they don’t like it – without even trying it!

At the nursery we understand this…

From the youngest to the oldest, we encourage age and stage appropriate self serving of each meal. When children are encouraged to ‘have a go’ we often observe some ‘wow’ happening!

Our 100% organic produce is a wonderful way to teach children how to be as healthy as possible and how to look after our environment but it’s also a wonderful celebration of the world – countries, cultures and traditions – and mealtimes play an integral part in nursery life.

All our meals are prepared daily in our 5* kitchen by Aaron, our lovely chef. (our latest kitchen inspection was held in 2022)

The menus are comprised of many flavours, colours, textures, aromas and combinations, which introduce children to how diverse and exciting food can really be and invites them to ‘eat a rainbow’ every day, a sure way to get as many vitamins and minerals are possible.

In February 2022, Shepperton Organic Day Nursery has been awarded the Eat Well Start Well Award, This award has been developed by Surrey Public Health to recognise Early Years settings that are providing healthy and nutritious food for children in their care.
